Our election last November was a decisive victory, not only because of our strong vote at the polls, but in the message it sent that people prefer our positive and issue-oriented campaign. The fact that so many people were willing to say a good word about our work for their family, friends, neighbors and coworkers made all the difference in our successful people-to-people campaign.
Thousands of folks volunteered to help with our mailings, wore our campaign pins and shirt, and proudly displayed signs in front of their homes and businesses. Serving in public office is an honor, and having your support is most humbling and very much appreciated.
This year, it is time for congress to get to work to solve some of our nation's most pressing problems such as getting people back to work, getting our nation's economic house in order, and ensuring a strong national defense.
